Moving out in April

The day after the big party at the Tout Va Bien, the survivors came out to West New York to help us out with moving out of our apartment. The move wasn't that big (3 blocks or so), but nevertheless it took us 3 hours or so to get everything out and back in.

We've already put some stuff in already (bookshelves, entertainement unit etc) it was just a matter of arranging things around... We got some pizza and wings to help us recover from the efforts made during the day!

The new place is great, we have a nice and bright living room and a great view, which is a big change from the previous one.

Voila donc un nouveau déménagement, le lendemain de la grosse soirée organisée au Tout Va Bien. Les survivants de la veille ont bien répondu présent et ensemble nous avons mis près de 3 heures pour tout déménager, vu que nous avons bougé de 3 blocs! Pour nous récompenser de tous ces efforts fournis, pizzas et wings étaient de circonstance!

Quant à notre nouvel appartement, il est bien plus grand et lumineux que l'ancien, avec en prime la vue sur Manhattan!

Tout va bien party

April was a very loaded (in all terms and sense) month since we've decided to celebrate Lyly's and Nadia's birthdays, as well as Boris' vacation (sorry mission) to France until the end of the year. As a good party usually has a good place, we gathered all at the Tout Va Bien restaurant to celebrate accordingly!

The girls were happy and got a spa package to get pampered as well as the singing cards signed by everyone, Boris had his picture framed wearing his recently changed colors, as a souvenir while in the ennemy's territory...

The night went on great, everybody had fun drinking, dancing and singing French classics, the party was awesome!

Nous voila donc encore au mois d'avril pour un rassemblement général le 24 pour célébrer l'anniversaire de Lyly et Nadia, ainsi que le départ (provisoire) de Boris pour Paname. Quoi de mieux pour une occasion pareille que le Tout Va Bien, QG after hours pour pas mal de personnes présentes pour faire la fête, danser et chanter du Michel Sardou en boucle!

Les filles eurent leur lot de cartes et cadeaux de spa pour se pamponner tandis que Boris avait un cadre avec ses nouvelles couleurs, qu'il défendra ardemment dans le territoire dionysien ennemi...

Une bien belle soirée en tout cas, le lendemain fut rude pour certains mais ça en vallait la peine!

Louloute's birthday in April

It has been quite some time since our last post and the trip back to France for the holidays, so here we are again! There has been quite a few things happening, let us try to get them out, in order if possible :)! We'll first start off with my louloute's birthday on April 18th. As most of you know, she's a big broadway musical fan, so for her 25th birthday a show was in order! I've tried to keep it as secret as possible until the very last day and was glad I did! We also went out to the Jersey shore outlets to get some new clothes with Julien, Nadia and Jenayé on that day. Once we came back home, we had little time to get to the city and the 8pm show, and what a great show that was! The story was really great, the comedians' performance awesome and most of all, louloute was thrilled and happy to cross yet another show from her list!

Once the show was over, we walked over to an Irish pub/restaurant and had some good dinner to finish off a great birthday!

Pardonnez-nous de ne pas avoir donné des nouvelles plus tôt depuis le retour des vacances en France. Par quoi commencer donc? Peut-être par l'événement le plus important du mois d'avril, à savoir l'anniversaire de ma louloute en cette journée de la Saint-Parfait, qui se devait de l'être!
Après avoir résisté à dévoiler les cadeaux qui l'attendaient jusqu'au jour J, louloute était toute heureuse d'apprendre qu'elle ira voir Wicked, un musical qui la trottait depuis un bon moment! Une fois les billets dévoilés au matin, nous avons pris la route pour une séquence shopping avec des amis (futurs voisins) de West New York. Les emplettes faites, nous sommes rentrés à la maison pour y repartir aussitôt, direction Manhattan et le Gershwin Theater.
Le show en lui même était spectaculaire, les artistes au top et ma louloute heureuse, que demander de plus? Un restaurant, effectivement vu que nous avions mangé des choses pas très catholiques à midi... Direction donc le Rosie O'Grady's où nous nous sommes faits plaisir avec des fruits de mer et une bonne bouteille de blanc pour finir cette belle journée! Une fois nos peaux de ventre bien tendues, nous revenons à la maison qui était en chantier pour le déménagement le week-end suivant!

Holidays in France

After a long break on the web, here we are again! First of all, we wish you a happy and prosperous New Year, may the Force be with all of us...
Now then, December was approaching quickly as we decided to spend 2 weeks in France to see the families for the holidays! On the 23rd, we got our luggage filled with presents, warm clothes and took off for Paris with enough delay to miss our flight to Lyon! Fortunately enough, the AF lounge was kind enough to welcome us :)!
Once we refueled at the lounge, we were able to take off and land to Lyon, where Lyly's father and sister were waiting. We headed to Lyon, nearby the Gerland stadium (where the current French champions play, OL) where her grandma and grandpa live and got a warm welcome with white wine, a huge seafood platter and an excellent cake! And that was just the begining...

Off to the Drôme and Lyly's mom's where we got some rest and headed to her other's grand parents for the Christmas dinner. Great food, great atmosphere and a lot of drinking of course until 3am!
At or around 11 the next morning, we got to open our presents, Santa Claus really thought we behaved!Later on, we went back to her dad's and had yet another meal well which lasted for a while, almost until dinner time! Thankfully, the apéros (French appetite-opening pre-meal drinking) were marking a little break in between!

On the 26th, we went back to Lyly's mother to eat, yet again, a full case of oysters with some good white wine.
The next day, we picked up my mother and brother at the Valence train station, setting off to the Vercors for 4 days... Between the great views of the mountains, great food and rummy parties we had a lot of fun!

On New Year's Eve, we went down to Bourg de Péage and celebrated at Lyly's mom's and had, guess what, a lot of food and drinks!!

On the 2nd, Choup's mom and brother went back to Montauban, it was also our last week-end here in France... We've also stopped by Loïc and Stéphanie's to say hi and see the little Alycia who has grown a lot since June!

Tuesday was our final day as we headed out from Lyon to Paris and get our connection. Fortunately enough, and thanks to the snow which caused massive cancellations and delays the day before, we got upgraded to business class all the way to the US and could really get used to it!

It was good seeing everybody, the vacation was a blast, we came happy and heavier (guess who that might be)!

Après une longue pause sur le web, nous voila de retour! La période réglementaire de fêtes de fin d'année s'approchant à grands pas, nous décidons de les passer en France, en famille.

Départ donc de notre NJ d'adoption et nous nous envolons pour Lyon via Paris... Comme d'habitude, nous loupons notre correspondance et profitons de l'attente pour nous restaurer dans le salon. Quelques heures plus tard, le papa et la soeur de Lyly nous accueuillent à l'aéroport, direction Lyon où nous rendons visite à ses grands parents.

Les retrouvailles se passent bien, un plateau géant de fruits de mer et de vin blanc nous attendaient aussi, et ce ne fut que le début!

Une fois arrivés dans la Drôme, nous repartons aussi vite avec la famille Penel dans l'Isère chez les autres grand-parents de Lyly pour un repas, que dis-je, un festin en guise de retrouvailles!

Le lendemain matin, déballage de cadeaux, le Père Noël nous a vraiment gâté et retour à Clérieux où d'autres cadeaux nous attendaient ainsi qu'un autre délicieux repas.

Après avoir bien mangé et bien bu une fois de plus, nous remettons ça pas plus de 20h plus tard avec une montagne d'huitres et du bon vin du coté de Bourg de Péage cette fois-ci!

Le 27, nous récupérons la maman et le petit frère d'Arben pour une semaine, le temps d'aller dans le Vercors pour quelques jours et d'y redescendre pour fêter dignement le Nouvel An (gros repas comme vous pouvez le deviner)!

Les 7 jours passés à une vitesse hallucinante, il était déjà temps de raccompagner Nana et Tarik à la gare, retour à la ville d'Ingres... Quant à nous, c'était déjà le dernier week-end en France.

Nous avons rendu visite à Loïc, Stéphanie et leur petite Alycia qui a bien grandi depuis juin!

Mardi arriva très vite malheureusement... Levée pas trop tardive, on retrouve l'aéroport St-Exupéry pour s'envoler vers Paris et là, comble du hasard nous étions surclassés, donc chouchoutés durant tout le vol, des voyages comme celui la on en ferait tous les jours ou presque!

Voila donc notre petit retour aux racines, cela fait du bien de revoir tout le monde, encore merci pour ces moments de plaisir, de rigolade et à très bientôt!

Wedding in Washington, DC

Last week of September we went out to Washington, DC to attend Mo's wedding, along with Ed and Glo. After several hours of driving and traffic, we finally got to the hotel and rushed to the church where the ceremony was taking place! It all came a bit late due to the rain and people being delayed on their way through, but we got to see the bride and groom all dressed up and ready to exchange their vows!After the ceremony we headed back to the hotel and got some appetizers at the nearby steakhouse. Since the ceremony was delayed, the reception got to be pushed back as well. We enjoyed the local food and music and went back to the hotel to get some well deserved rest.

The next day, we had a big hearty breakfast at the hotel and drove back home to Jersey...

La dernière semaine de septembre nous a amené à Washington, DC pour le mariage de Mo, avec Ed et Glo. Après plusieurs heures de route et de traffic terrible, nous arrivons enfin à l'hôtel pour en repartir aussitôt! Pensant arriver en retard, nous nous apercevons qu'une grande partie des invités ne sont pas la à cause de la pluie qui s'est abattue sur la région... Heureusement donc, nous avons pu voir arriver les mariés et les entendre échanger leurs voeux!

La cérémonie terminée, nous revenons à l'hôtel pour récupérer un peu et manger quelques amuse-gueules avant d'enchainer la cérémonie. Au menu donc spécialités mais aussi la musique locale, le tout dans une ambiance bon enfant! Retour à l'hôtel vers minuit pour une nuit de repos bien méritée.. Le lendemain nous reprenons la route après un petit-déjeuner bien costaud, direction la maison...

Sébastien & Sandra's Wedding, Toronto CA

A month ago, we went to Toronto to attend Sébastien & Sandra's wedding.

We arrived on Thursday at Vivi and Pierre's apartment and spent time with them as their journey in Toronto was almost over. Vivi was going back to France the following weekend and Pierre was leaving a month after.

We played cards and had nice meals the 4 of us until the wedding on Saturday.The wedding took place at The Beach, downtown Toronto. After waiting for the groom and bride to show up, the wedding finally started.The ceremony was beautiful with the Ontario Lake as the background. We took pictures in the park near the beach and set free butterflies as a good luck sign for the new wife and husband.

Then, we had dinner outside, a bit chilly but the food was good and spicy.

We headed back to Sandra and Sébastien's place for drinks and cake.

We had a nice party, it was great to see everyone but it was already time for us to take our flight and go back home.Turn the volume down or we'll arrest you...lol

Il y a un mois, nous sommes montés à Toronto pour assister au mariage de Sébastien et Sandra.

Arrivant le Jeudi, nous sommes allés chez Pierrot et Vivi où nous avons retrouvé les joies de la coinche et des homards à sucer :P

Samedi, jour J, le mariage se passait sur les plages du Lac Ontario. Après un peu de retard de la part de mariés, la cérémonie a enfin pu commencer.Une fois les voeux échangés et le "je vous déclare mari et femme", nous sommes allés dans le parc à côté prendre des photos et avons lâché les papillons en signe de bonne fortune pour les nouveaux mariés.Le repas s'est déroulé sur la plage où il commençait à faire froid, heureusement la nourriture quelque peu épicée nous a tous réchauffé.

Ensuite, nous sommes allés chez Sébastien et Sandra pour couper le gâteau et boire le champagne.

Ce fût une bonne visite qui est passée bien vite car le dimanche il nous fallait déjà reprendre le chemin de l'aéroport pour rentrer chez nous.
